Biography

Jorge L. Colón obtained a BS from Cornell University College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (1992), a DVM from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine (1995), and an MBA with a finance certificate from Colorado State University's College of Business (2015). He spent 25 years of clinical practice in Lexington, Kentucky, as an equine ambulatory practitioner, also working as a private business consultant and educator since 2014.

Colón joined the Cornell Center for Veterinary Business and Entrepreneurship (CVBE) in January 2020 as a professor of practice in financial and organizational management, where he is tasked with the development and implementation of veterinary business educational program into the veterinary curriculum; with the creation of outreach veterinary business executive education; and with the establishment of networking channels with faculty under the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business umbrella as well as key Veterinary College alumni and CVBE partners.

Colón is the author of Essential Business Concepts for Veterinary Professionals and holds an affiliated faculty position at the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management.
