Biography

James Stapp is a lecturer of management communication at the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management. Drawing upon a diverse background in business and communication as well as eight years in private sector management across multiple industries, Stapp integrates practical insights into his academic approach.

His teaching and research endeavors include persuasive communication, leadership and management communication, interpersonal communication, business storytelling, presentation skills, harnessing technology and AI for effective communication, and the science of influence and decision-making.

Actively engaged in scholarly discourse, Stapp shares his insights at professional conferences and extends his expertise through consulting work with Fortune 500 companies, nonprofit organizations, and government entities. He remains steadfastly committed to nurturing the communication skills of current and future business leaders, equipping them to express their ideas, navigate challenges, and accomplish their goals with confidence.
