Our Blog:  Cornell Tax Conferences – News from the Director

For 2022, to meet your tax training needs in these somewhat challenging times, we are offering four in-person Two Day Tax Conferences and one virtual Tax School.  The authors and editors start working in January to put together the best tax training materials available. We then hold off publishing in order to include the most up-to-date New Legislation chapter possible.

Note that based on evaluations from our 2021 Tax Conferences, we will be offering a Partnership Seminar as well in 2022. Stay tuned for registration details as the dates approach. We will also email all those on our mailing list (see below to be added to that list).

We conduct research and offer educational programs targeted toward tax preparers, consultants, and attorneys who work with and prepare tax returns for individuals, small businesses, and farmers.

The Cornell tax schools have run continuously for over 60 years. Our current schools are taught by small business and farm tax experts.

The programs are for Continuing Education credits by the IRS. Depending on the class there are 2, 8 or up to 16 CPE Credits Available for New York State CPA’s and 15 CPE Credits for Other Tax Return Preparers and Enrolled Agents. (The Fall classes also meets the requirements of the CFP Board.)

The tax school is led by Dario Arezzo. Dario has many years of tax experience as well as tax school teaching experience.

Our Two-Day Tax Conference

This is a faster paced program that covers tax law updates and individual (Form 1040) income tax issues, but also includes information on LLC, Partnership, Corporate, Estate and Gift Issues where applicable. It does not include a 2 hour Ethics presentation.

Ethics

Ethics is presented as a separate 2-hour virtual session.

NOTE:The Ethics portion of the course is not approved for CPAs or CFPs. Ethics is for IRS requirements ONLY not NYS.

Register early and save: Registration fees are based on the schools being offered and are made available once they are determined. We offer an early registration period which provides discounted rates.

Tax School Cancellation/Refund Policy: We must be notified in writing; an e-mail message is okay.

  • Early bird deadline, September 30, 2022.
  • With the direct shipping of books and them being made available digitally, there will be NO REFUNDS after October 18, 2022.
  • If you cancel before October 18, 2022, there will be a $45 fee charged.
  • Cancellations received any later will not receive a refund but will be sent the materials handed out at the school.

No Shows: Registrants who do not attend will be sent the materials handed out at the school.

Note: Substitution of attendees is permitted but must be approved by the Registrar, prior to the class.
