Freshman Course Schedule

What Courses Do Freshmen Typically Take?

Below is a typical first-year schedule for freshman applied economics and management (AEM) majors. Because of your differing interests and Advanced Placement and International Credentials, no two schedules will be the same. After all, at Cornell we embrace Ezra Cornell's vision to found an institution where "any person can find instruction in any study." The 4-year schedule template for students admitted to the Dyson School as freshmen can help you plan beyond your first year.

You must complete a total of 120 credits to graduate, so the average course load is 15 credits a semester. A student must carry 12 credits each semester to be considered a full-time student.

Information on how to preregister for the fall semester will be sent to incoming freshmen during the summer. Answers to frequently asked questions about academic advising and course enrollment are posted on the FAQ page.
