The leadership minor requires 11 to 15 credit hours and culminates with a capstone project and portfolio. The program is divided into four tiers:
- Tier 1: Leadership Essentials (1 to 3 credits)
- Tier 2: Foundations in Leadership (LEAD 3100, 3 credits)
- Tier 3: Leadership Electives (6+ credits)
- Tier 4: Experiential Capstone and ePortfolio (1 to 3 credits)
Taking a closer look at Leadership Essentials, these credits can be fulfilled through either an in-major or cross-college leadership course, a leadership practicum, or a qualifying previous leadership program.
Leadership electives include scores of courses from across Cornell, from broad topics like The Nature of Leadership or Decision Making in Groups to more specific issues such as Black Women and Political Leadership, Ethics and the Environment, or Leadership Management in Sports.
