Dyson Leadership Minor

A campus-wide undergraduate minor in leadership, administered in partnership between CALS and Dyson. A commitment of 11 to 15 total credit-hours culminating in a capstone project and ePortfolio showcasing leading as a way of learning through knowledge, application, experience, and reflection.

Cornell University Leadership Minor Track

  • Tier 1: Leadership Essentials (1 to 3 credits)
  • Tier 2: Foundations in Leadership (LEAD 3100, 3 credits)
  • Tier 3: Leadership Electives (6+ credits)
  • Tier 4: Experiential Capstone and ePortfolio (1 to 3 credits)

Dyson Leadership Minors enjoy exclusive small group events throughout the year and during leadership week with our Leader in Residence, Dean’s Speakers, Guest Speakers, and Map the Challenge.  They also receive service opportunities related to hosting Leadership Week and receive faculty advisement from the Director of Leadership. The Director invites leadership minors and those in the minor who have chosen to designate as Fellows to periodic small group meal gatherings to learn and discuss current leadership topics effecting our world today. More than half the credits earned in the minor are experiential, allowing students to learn while doing.

Example course plan:

  • AEM1700: Leadership Training Experience (1cr, Tier I)
